On Monday, May 23, Minister of Defence of Ukraine General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak held talks with representatives of the NATO Liaison Office to Ukraine, ambassadors, defence attachés accredited in Ukraine and foreign advisors at the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The meeting participants discussed the provisions of the Strategic Defence Bulletin of Ukraine developed considering the proposals of the foreign experts and principal strategic documents of the state in national security and defence.
“The main task of our reforms is to form efficient, mobile, and well-equipped army under the NATO standards and principles capable to ensure the state defence,” Stepan Poltorak underlined.
The minister thanked the representatives of foreign states and the NATO Liaison Office to Ukraine for assistance provided in development of strategic documents of defence planning.
According to the defence ministry head, the MoD has been already using the Strategic Defence Bulletin.
Particularly, the MoD structure, functions, tasks, obligations and responsibilities of senior officials will have been reformed till July 15, 2016. He stressed the senior positions would be occupied by the war-experienced persons who were ready and capable to change the situation.
“We cannot make mistakes and we hope for further support from the NATO Liaison Office to Ukraine, Alliance Nations and partners in our reforms,” Stepan Poltorak remarked.
