“In 2016,
the Ukrainian Army will participate in 10 multinational exercises
(4 exercises in Ukraine and 6 abroad),” LTC Oleksii
Chornobay, Aide of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine for Public Affairs, stressed during
a briefing at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Centre.
The
International Peacekeeping and Security Centre will host the multinational
tactical exercise on training of armed forces units, U.S.-Ukrainian
Rapid Trident 2016, and Maple Arch 2016.
Moreover,
the Annual U.S.-Ukrainian Sea Breeze 2016 will be held.
It is expected more than 12,500 Ukrainian servicemen will participate
in the multinational exercise in Ukraine.
The
Ukrainian servicemen will participate in the exercises held abroad such
as Saber Guardian 2016 (Romania); Flaming Thunder 2016 (Lithuania); Light
Avalanche 2016 (Romania); Flaming Sword 2016 (Lithuania); REGEX 2016 (Bosnia
and Herzegovina); as well as Multinational Command Staff Exercise
Anaconda 2016 which is the biggest exercise in Europe.
