Volodymyr Groysman held a meeting on the use of the funds of the State Fund for Regional Development and support for investment projects

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman held a meeting on the use of the funds of the State Fund for Regional Development in 2016, grants from the state budget to local budgets for social and economic development of the areas as well as the budget program "Support for national and regional investment projects."

The meeting was attended by First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko, Finance Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Yuliia Kovaliv, Deputy Finance Minister Oksana Markarova.

The Prime Minister stressed the need for simplification of obtaining funding for regional projects by the local authorities. "I believe it should be honest, unbiased and with no red tape," noted Volodymyr Groysman.

In this regard, the Prime Minister instructed the Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine to work out proposals for the improvement of the use of the funds of the State Fund for Regional Development.

The Head of Government noted the need to provide the local authorities with the medium-term planning for implementation of investment projects. "We need to build a new relationship: each should have its own budget and be in charge of it," said Volodymyr Groysman.

The meeting also discussed the allocation of subventions from the state budget to the local budgets for the formation of joint infrastructure of territorial communities, foreseeing UAH 1 billion in 2016. The Prime Minister stressed the need to put an end to the allocation of these funds and instructed to work out a list of projects for funding until June 1.
