On Friday, 4 March, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk visited secondary school №3 in Vyshneve of Kyiv region, in which at the account of educational subventions from the budget had been purchased advanced computer hardware for a science classroom.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk has visited the science classroom, in which the latest equipment was installed – a digital measuring computer complex of Еinstein.

The Еinstein complex consists of a set of digital laboratories for teachers/pupils, computers and multimedia equipment for laboratory work.

This equipment was purchased at the account of educational subventions from the state budget.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that in the past year the Government had allocated for the purchase of such equipment UAH 100 million, while all across the country there had been equipped 395 similar classrooms: "This year we transfer to local budgets two times more - UAH 200 million to buy new equipment and to provide an opportunity for Ukrainian children to benefit from the latest technology."

The core objective of the Government for 2016 in reforming secondary education, according to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, is to launch a project of hub schools, to provide them with updated equipment and ensure a new system of financing.

The Government allocated funds to purchase a thousand school buses this year, with participation of local communities. The Prime Minister reminded that he had instructed to buy these buses by the start of the new academic year. Moreover, he informed that he had commissioned relevant departments to ensure repair of roads for transportation to schools.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that now in Ukraine there are a lot of schools which are underfilled, and the spending per student can reach UAH 75 thousand at an average tuition cost worth UAH 8-9 thousand. After such anchor schools are established, children will have the opportunity to attend a modern school which provides buses, in which teachers receive higher wages, as the funds saved as a result of establishment of the hub school will be spent at the disposal of the school. There a child can get real knowledge, can pass the EIT and then enter either a vocational or higher educational institution".

"Actually, it is about the creation of a new high-quality secondary education in the country", stressed the Head of Government.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk also visited the festive concert, which the students dedicated to March 8 celebration.

The Prime Minister appealed to the audience: "Our future is here, in this assembly hall it is these radiant children. And our responsibility is to protect our statehood, to ensure these children could have a good education and work, to ensure our children could be worthy citizens of the European country".

He congratulated women-teachers on the upcoming holiday of 8 March: "Our female teachers are the basis our country is being built on. Especially in secondary education, as it is fundamental. Without school it is impossible either to have higher education, or Nobel prize winners, or high value country as a whole. The school is now bringing up those who will move the country forward."

Arseniy Yatsenyuk thanked the teachers for "the great and hard work they do for our country".

"I want to assure you that for our Government the basis of the reform in 2016 is high-quality secondary education. And we should join our hands and fight together," added the Head of Government.

The comprehensive school of I-III grades №3 situated in Kyiv region enumerates 1 154 pupils, about 100 of them are the children of internally displaced persons.
