  • The Prime Minister of Ukraine has met with defence Ministers of Lithuania and Sweden

    Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has met with the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania Juozas Olekas and Defence Minister of Sweden Peter Hultqvist on Friday, February 19.

    Arseniy Yatsenyuk expressed his gratitude to the Lithuanian and Swedish parties for the support of Ukraine and practical technical and expert assistance in reforming the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

    “I really appreciate the support that your countries provide to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence in order to make the Ukrainian Armed Forces strong, reliable, as you know well that the Ukrainian army is defending not only Ukraine, but also the borders of the European Union. We are all facing incredible geopolitical challenges,” said the Head of Ukrainian Government.

    Juozas Olekas and Peter Hultqvist assured of the readiness of governments of Lithuania and Sweden on further comprehensive assistance for our state to implement reforms and confront Russian aggression.

    During the conversation it was about the complex issues associated with the implementation of the Minsk agreements. It was also discussed topical issues of the political situation in our country and the actions and plans of the Government of Ukraine in the context of the European course of transformation.
