Ukraine has brought an
action to the Energy Community Secretariat against Nord Stream-2":
"This project should not just be reconsidered, it should be terminated", said Prime Minister of
Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, on Monday, February 1, during a meeting with Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Foreign
and European
Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák.
"We are convinced
that this project has nothing to
do with the economy, it is
an entirely political project. We appeal to the Energy Community Secretariat and
the European Commission to initiate an investigation, to stop this
anti-European, anti-Ukrainian, anti-Slovak, anti-Polish, to prevent Russia
overperforming us, and to ensure creating
a truly transparent and competitive European gas market", stressed
Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
The Prime Minister of
Ukraine accentuated that together with the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico they "gave a clear message to
our European partners and the international community that this project must
be not just reconsidered, but it should actually be
suspended".
He expressed gratitude
for the contribution of Slovakia to maintain gas supplies to
Ukraine.
"If we are united
and stay on same message, we will win this fight", summed up Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
