PM invited Nobel laureate Dan Shechtman to develop joint educational initiatives
On Tuesday,
January 26, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with the outstanding scientists of our time,
world famous physicist and chemist, 2011 recipient of the Nobel Prize in
Chemistry, Professor Dan Shechtman (Israel).
The conversation
was focused on urgent issues of education and science in Ukraine, as well as
the use of advanced educational technology for the development of
entrepreneurship and innovation.
"Education
is a task number one in every country that seeks progress," said Dan Shechtman, noting the desire to promote Ukrainian reforms,
popularize science among young people and spread knowledge about new
technological approaches for the development of modern business. Professor Schechtman
shared his experience of the implementation of his Science in Kindergarten
program, which has been used successfully in Israeli kindergartens.
The Prime
Minister of Ukraine thanked the Nobel laureate for visiting Ukraine, support
and interest in implementing joint plans and projects in our country.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk offered Dan Shechtman
close cooperation and dialogue, which would provide new ideas and impetus in
the organization of science and education and promotion of new intellectual
search for the Ukrainian youth and progressive entrepreneurs.
