The bailout plan
should include "just economic means and methods as well as political unity
and responsibility of all political forces," said
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk
at a press conference on Tuesday, December 29.
Answering
questions on statements made by coalition partners regarding the bailout plan
for Ukraine and changes in the Government, and re-elections, Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted, "I can
explain how to go out of the crisis economic situation. Just
by using economical means and methods as well as political unity and responsibility
of all political forces."
"When the
country is at war, when Ukraine lost 20% of the economy, when 5% of gross
domestic product is spent on national security and defense, when we need to
fund the army, when we need to continue reforms, very tough - we just need to follow
the pattern of our partners. For
example, Poland, which was not at war, over 14 years had been showing political
responsibility and step by step and day by day conducted the difficult and
unpopular reforms, and became a member of the European Union," he
stressed.
"So, my advice about the bailout plan: grit your teeth, especially Ukrainian politicians, and do your work. It’s a question of history, the work we are doing," underlined the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
