On 29 October, General of the Army Viktor Muzhenko, Chief of General Staff, Ukrainian Armed Forces, held talks with General Petr Pavel, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.

During the meeting they discussed the security situation in the east of Ukraine and possible scenarios of its development in the short term.

General Petr Pavel noted that Chief of Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine reached tangible results in reforming of the institution entrusted to him especially taking into account the current efforts to resist the Russian military aggression.

Special attention was paid to the further reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine according to the NATO standards and further assistance from the Alliance in this context.

In particular, it was agreed to develop the Concept of reforming of the Armed Forces of Ukraine according to the NATO standards in the medium term until January 2016.
