Ukraine is
carrying out decentralization reform aimed at regional development. Kazakhstan
is also conducting reforms aimed at improving the competitiveness of its
economy.
This was stated
by Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing
and Utilities Hennadii Zubko
in Astana during the official visit of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"The course
of reforms in our countries suggests the need for more initiatives on the
ground, strengthening and improvement of regional policy," Hennadii Zubko noted.
"The
development of interregional cooperation between the two countries is quite
promising," says the official.
"It is
important at the international level to create conditions that will facilitate
interregional dialogue. We
need a clear and concrete support mechanism of regional initiatives and
projects that could be implemented within the framework of Ukrainian-Kazakh
inter-regional cooperation," he emphasised.
According to Hennadii Zubko, our countries can
focus on promoting bilateral cooperation with the use of domestic technology
and partial localization of the final production in Kazakhstan.
In addition, it is possible to exploit the potential of the most advanced industrial regions of Ukraine to build cooperation with regions of Kazakhstan, which specialize in manufacturing engineering, energy, technological equipment, which require reconstruction and modernization of mining and metallurgical complex, coal industry.
