Arseniy Yatsenyuk assures gas oligarchs to lose a war against citizens of Ukraine
"Any
attempts by some political forces to disrupt the program of subsidies and take
away citizens' money that the Government gives each family as compensation for tariffs
on housing and communal services are doomed to failure. We
will continue to issue and pay subsidies to all who need them. Gas
oligarchs do not win this war against the citizens of Ukraine," Prime
Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk
emphasised at a government meeting on Wednesday,
October 7.
He recalled that
the Government of Ukraine provided UAH24.5 billion to pay subsidies.
"People not
just believed, but saw that the subsidy compensates household spending, the
state allocates real money to every family who needs it in order to reduce the bill
on housing and communal services," said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
The Prime Minister recalled that last year 450,000 households - more than 1.2 million citizens – applied for subsidy. And today 3.3 million households - more than 10 million citizens of Ukraine – have already received subsidies from the state. In addition, Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted, the Government expects that another million of households would receive subsidies before the beginning of the heating season.
