A meeting of the
Commission on trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and China winded
up in China: "A Ukrainian delegation is returning with good news - China
took a decision to grant access for 18 Ukrainian companies producing and supplying
dairy products," announced Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at
a Government meeting on Wednesday, September 30.
"These companies
have now an opportunity to trade in the Ukrainian dairy products in
China," he said.
"New markets are
of extreme importance for Ukraine. And the fact that the Chinese party has
decided to open their market for 18 Ukrainian companies producing dairy
products is very important, as it means recognition of our efforts in modernizing
the Ukrainian industry and the Ukrainian processing industry. This is another
step to increase both the production volumes, the number of jobs and revenues
of the Ukrainian economy", stressed the Head of Government.
"It is a rather
serious step for the Ukrainian goods to enter new markets, for us to diversify our
supply markets. Russia closed its market, and we are not ready to rest but enhance
our capabilities to sell Ukrainian commodities to third countries, China and
the European Union," Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed.
The Prime Minister
reminded that from 1 January 2016 the Agreement on a comprehensive free trade
area with the EU would come into force, no matter how Russia tried to oppose it.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
also added that at the end of year a meeting of the intergovernmental
Commission on trade-economic cooperation between Ukraine and China is due in Kyiv:
"We expect the presence of high-level representatives of our Chinese
partners, as well as holding a business forum with Chinese and Ukrainian
business structures".
