
Arseniy Yatsenyuk held a meeting on preparations for the 75th anniversary of the Babi Yar massacre

September, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk
chaired a meeting on preparations for the 75th anniversary of the Babi Yar massacre.
Opening the
meeting, the Prime Minister has pointed out that the 75th
anniversary of the Babi Yar
massacre is one of the key events in the calendar of memorable dates of the
Ukrainian state and Ukrainian society.
Those present at
the meeting heads of ministries and departments, public organizations and
national associations, religious leaders, MPs of Ukraine and academics have discussed
the preparation for the commemoration of the anniversary of the Babi Yar tragedy.
In particular,
they talked about the concept of commemorating this date at the internal and
international levels, the introduction of landscape-architectural competition
to streamline the Babi Yar National
historical reserve, ensuring its reliable protection.
It was also discussed
dissemination of memory lessons about the Holocaust and Babi
Yar, which had been introduced in many schools across
the country, within the whole national education system.
Following the
meeting the Prime Minister gave specific instructions on the preparation for
the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the Babi
Yar massacre, memorialization
of the tragedy and its victims.
