In Kramatorsk Arseniy Yatsenyuk launched the new police patrol project and took part in the celebration of the City Day
On Saturday,
September 26, in Kramatorsk, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk
together with Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen
Avakov activated a new patrol police project in
Kramatorsk and Slovyansk.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
stressed that day Kramatorsk was celebrating three holidays: the City Day, the Day
of Machine Builder and the start of the new police service in Kramatorsk and Slovyansk.
He accentuated that, first
of all, the new police would mean an enhanced security for every Kramatorsk
resident, "a new attitude of the police officer to each citizen, the new
principles of communication between police officers and the citizens, and the
new responsibility of both an officer and a citizen".
In Kyiv and other
cities of the country, stressed the Head of Government, the new police officers
are young people, most of whom have higher education and experience in a
completely different area, which isn’t connected to the law enforcement system:
"They are the people who have really come to serve every citizen of the
country."
"I really want
that Kramatorsk could also demonstrate that highly professional, honest,
strong, fair people apply - the people who wish to serve their nation", he
stressed.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
stressed that for the new police officers in Kramatorsk and Slovyansk
it will be harder to perform their duties than in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa and
other cities: "The front line is too close. And therefore the challenges
for the police of Kramatorsk and Slovyansk require
additional knowledge, training and attention".
The establishment of
a new patrol police is one of the steps that change the country, he said:
"A police reform is only one component. The other
components, of course, the courts, the prosecutor's office, the entire law
enforcement system. Including a social sector reform,
reform of the budget. Those are additional social benefits which the
Government has already assigned: "Step by step we are carrying out these
changes."
He stressed that
despite the fact that a few dozens kilometers from
Kramatorsk there is a front line, “the line of military aggression of Russia
against Ukraine, against everyone who is standing now in the square, against
the country's future in general - we are fighting and we win: “We have not just
survived – we have demonstrated to the world that we are strong".
"The same
strength should be demonstrated by new Ukrainian police officers in Kramatorsk
and Slovyansk. All of us constitute one country. And
in this country we are the creators of our future", he added.
"We will never
give up Donetsk and Luhansk, we will regain control
over the entire territory of Ukraine. And Crimea is a part of Ukraine too. The
time will come when we return Donetsk and Luhansk, Simferopol and Sevastopol. As
this is our country, and nobody will take it away from us", stressed Arseniy
Yatsenyuk.
After the festivities
dedicated to the start of recruitment into the brand-new police the Prime
Minister talked to young people who apply to the new patrol police and took a
wander along Kramatorsk. Together with Kramatorsk residents he took part in the
celebrations of the City Day.
