"I hope that the Parliament will vote unilaterally for the Government's initiative to raise pensions, wages and 80 various social benefits, as also for writing off and restructuring of debts to foreign creditors," stressed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk in 10 minutes program, answering questions asked in Facebook.
He reminded that the Government had adopted a decision on increase of social standards for almost 12.5 million Ukrainian citizens and 80 different kinds of welfare benefits: "The salaries, pensions and other social transfers will affect 13% of citizens on average. While, highly skilled workers will have their wages upped by 18%".
He explained, the Government had submitted relevant amendments to the law of Ukraine on the State Budget to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
"The next Thursday, the Parliament must vote for five laws designed to change the state budget, increase wages and pensions, as determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine". Among these laws is also the bill that affords to restructure and write off the debts of Ukraine. Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that the Government had managed to agree on writing off approximately US $ 4 billion of debt, "we owe to our lenders, [the sum] we didn’t borrow, but we had to settle this issue": "We have agreed on restructuring the debt and suspended the repayment of the initial loan for 4 years".
Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed following the approval of the aforesaid laws by the Verkhovna Rada the Government "either will pay the balance according to a separate payment sheet by the end of this month or with pension payment for October will reimburse to each retiree the remaining funds for September and October".
"But to be granted a permission to spend funds that the Government has already accumulated, the Parliament must support these laws, the President signs them, and we will reach each pensioner, each teacher, doctor, employee of educational, public sector, each mother with many children, to each citizen of the country, who will receive an average of 13 to 18% of additional payments to their pensions, wages and social benefits", stressed the Head of Government.
