  • Arseniy Yatsenyuk: Organizers, instigators and perpetrators of the act of violence and anti-Ukrainian provocation near the VR shall be prosecuted

    There has been established a joint investigative team comprising staff of the General Prosecutor’s office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine to enquire into the terrorist attack near the Verkhovna Rada: "The activities of the investigators of the Security Service, the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor General's office should result into immediate submission of materials to court and prosecution of everyone who committed this crime - the organizers, instigators and perpetrators," said Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a Government meeting on Wednesday, September 2.

    Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed this day a farewell ceremony for the three soldiers of the National Guard who had died as a result of the terrorist act, anti-Ukrainian provocation by political forces near the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine was taking place: "Three soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine – Ihor Debrin, Dmitry Slasnikov and Olexander Kostyna - were killed by anti-Ukrainian mobs and terrorists".

    Members of the Government honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.

    The Prime Minister once again drew attention of the law enforcement agencies to the fact that the list of articles under which criminal proceedings had been instituted envisages life imprisonment for the perpetrators of this inhumane act: "I call on the entire law enforcement system, the prosecuting authorities to take each measure and bring the perpetrators to justice. These thugs should sit in jail".

    Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed the previous day they with Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov had met with acting commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Mykola Balan.

    The Prime Minister noted that there is a directive of the Government to pay compensation allowance to the bereaved families, "the soldiers of the National Guard who have become victims in this anti-Ukrainian, anti-state provocation, and the soldiers of the National Guard who were protecting public order and opposing the bandits."
