Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, national and international organizations launched a joint project to support IDPs
The Ministry
of Social Policy of Ukraine, the Crimea SOS project and International
Organization Stabilization Support Services have launched a joint project to
help internally displaced persons in Ukraine.
The project
provides a Program of advisers for internally displaced persons within the
Ministry of Social Policy in Central, Eastern, Southern
and Western Ukraine. The program will be implemented in the key for IDPs
settlements, which will be determined by the Crimea SOS and the Ministry of
Social Policy.
Moreover,
the Program assumes that at the regional level advisers will operate as a local
contact point for IDPs and facilitate the exchange of information between the
Social Policy Ministry and regions, they will solve along with police and local
councils the issues of accommodation of IDPs.
Advisers at
the central level will act as a channel of communication on IDPs at the
regional level in order to convey the problems of IDPs to higher levels,
provide support to their colleagues in the Ministry to respond to the requests
from IDPs, representatives of NGOs and representatives of vulnerable groups.
Social
Policy Minister Pavlo Rozenko
has noted that the Government has been closely working for a long time with international
and national NGOs on addressing issues of internally displaced persons and also
praised the proposed Program.
