Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed to the heads of the CEC, the SSU, the Interior Ministry and Chernihiv RSA with a demand to pass the test for democracy during the elections in the 205 district
Prime Minister of
Ukraine addressed a letter to the Chairman of the Central Election Commission
of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Interior
Minister, head of the Chernihiv regional state
administration.
"Ukraine has the
experience of holding fair and transparent elections that comply with high
standards of the OSCE and the European Union. The elections in the 205 district
is another test for democracy in the country", the letter reads.
He expressed concern regarding
how the election process is carried out in this area.
The Prime Minister requires
these elections to be compliant with the highest standards of the OSCE, the
European Union regarding fairness and transparency.
He demands from the
CEC and Chernihiv regional state administration to ensure
full compliance with the requirements of the electoral legislation, realization
of general, equal and direct electoral rights of citizens of Ukraine.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
demands from law enforcement agencies to maintain order and the rule of law both
on the day of voting, and in the process of counting of the ballot.
