Oleksiy Pavlenko: American companies intend to supply agricultural machinery to Ukraine in amount of $1bln

American companies will assistant Ukraine in harvesting by supplying agricultural machinery to our country in the amount of $1 billion. Oleksiy Pavlenko, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, stressed this during the focus-session “Agrarian Business and Infrastructure”, held in the framework of Ukrainian-American business-forum in Washington D.C. (USA).

Oleksiy Pavlenko added that Ukrainian agrarians developed a partnership with American colleagues. For example, such companies as AgCo, Monsanto, Dupont Pioneer have already been operating successfully in Ukrainian markets and have increase investment in the agrarian sector of Ukraine. “The ambitious goals 2020 induce us to continue the fight for reforms. We endeavour to increase significantly the annual grain production and the export of value-added products. I am grateful to the American partners for the support, that Ukraine currently longs for,” the Minister noted.

The Minister also stressed that the irrigation systems modernization in the South of Ukraine was the most promising project for foreign investors. This project would result in consistently high yields of agricultural crops, fruits and vegetables of high coast in the proximity of export ports. “We must turn our infrastructure into a system which meets the Ukrainian interest in the next quarter century. We expect the investors engaged in this great affair to get the return on their capital,” Oleksiy Pavlenko stressed.
