Ukraine's PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev
On Tuesday,
July 7, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev,
who is in Ukraine on an official visit.
The President
of Bulgaria supported the course of reforms of the Ukrainian Government, which is
embodied in dramatic historical circumstances. According to him, the path
chosen has no alternative, as evidenced by the experience of his native
country: only through necessary, albeit difficult changes, Bulgaria has managed
to overcome the consequences of the mismanagement of the Communist regime.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk thanked Rosen Plevneliev
for his personal steadfast stand in defense of freedom, territorial integrity
and independence of Ukraine against Russian aggression and noted the significant
political and humanitarian assistance that Bulgaria provides to our country.
The parties
discussed the Ukraine’s internal and external situation. They paid special
attention to economic cooperation, including plans for intergovernmental consultations
and a bilateral Commission on economic cooperation, the implementation of
infrastructure projects, as well as attracting investment.
Moreover, it
was about the most relevant issues of regional peace and security,
consolidation of international efforts to protect the common European values
and unity of the European peoples.
