PM: By end of next week four international auditors will finalize report on housing and utility tariffs
Four international audit companies are to complete checks of tariffs established
by the National Commission for State Regulation in Energy and Public Utilities (NCSREPU)
by the end of next week. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed
to the VR Chairman with a request to hear the appropriate report in Parliament.
He said on Friday, June 5, during An Hour of Questions to the Government in the
Verkhovna Rada.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that after the issues of tariff forming had transferred
from an economic to the political plane, he initiated “a complete revision of
all tariffs established by the National Commission for State Regulation in Energy
and Public Utilities by four large auditing companies”.
Audit of pricing tariff, according to the Head of the Government, will have
been completed by the end of next week.

He appealed to Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroysman
on finalizing an unbiased report by the international audit companies to
invite to the Parliament the Gov’t members, the representatives
of the NCSREPU, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine and auditors, if they agreed: "We
shall distribute the report among the MPs and remove all political questions by
economic-grounded responses to how the tariffs were formed". Arseniy Yatsenyuk again recalled that the NCSREPU is an independent
body, but today all the authorities should be answerable “for everything happening
in the country": "The President, the Prime Minister, the Government
and all public authorities, irrespective of who appointed them”. Moreover he added, the Government of Ukraine had submitted to the
Parliament to consider a new bill on the National Commission for State
Regulation in Energy and Public Utilities designed to ensure independence and
accountability of this body. He noted that certain part of the People's Deputies of Ukraine have
suggestions and comments to the bill. In order to coordinate all technical issues
regarding this draft law, Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed to the Vice-Prime
Minister of Ukraine Valerii Voshchevsky,
Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn
to hold a meeting with the head of the NCSREPU, representatives of the profile
Parliament committees and experts, "to ensure this bill to be submitted the
following week and voted." |
