More than 830,000 people from East Ukraine with the help of authorities temporarily moved to safe areas of the state
Created by the
Government of Ukraine Interagency Coordinating Headquarters has provided accommodation
for more than 830,000 people from Donetsk and Luhansk
regions in other regions of the country. Interagency
Coordinating Headquarters’ departments are working around the clock to solve
urgent problems on transportation and social security of citizens that were
forced to leave their homes in eastern Ukraine due to the actions of pro-Russian
terrorists.
So, as of today,
thanks to the work of the Interagency Coordinating Headquarters and regional centers
834,000 persons from some territories of Donetsk and Luhansk
regions have been resettled to other regions of Ukraine. The
Government of Ukraine emphasizes that the authorities are doing their utmost to
ensure help for every person who applied for it.
In total, as of
May 14, over 1.2 million people have been registered as IDPs
from certain territories of Donbas and the temporarily-occupied territory of
the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. More
than 300,000 families, who turned to social protection, are receiving cash
assistance from the state.
Citizens will be
able to receive all necessary information on a specially created website for
internally displaced persons vpo.gov.ua.
Recall that in
June 2014 at the basis of the State Emergency Service the Government of Ukraine
established the Interagency Coordinating Headquarters for ensuring social
security of Ukrainian citizens displaced from the temporarily-occupied
territories and regions of the anti-terrorist operation
