PM asks PGO to pass Yanukovych's $1.4 billion to a stage of confiscation
Prime Minister of
Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk
appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine and the judiciary to pass
Yanukovych’s and his environment’s USD1.4-billion assets
arrested by the Government of Ukraine to a stage of confiscation and return them
to the State budget. The
Prime Minister stated at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers on Tuesday, 12
May.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that the Ukraine’s Government had arrested USD1.4
billion that belonged to Viktor Yanukovych and his environment.
The Prime
Minister appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine and judges
"to pass these assets from an arrest stage to a stage of confiscation."
"If these funds go back to the State budget from which they were stolen, it will enable the Government both improve social standards for citizens and further finance the army and fight against corruption," Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized.
