Arseniy Yatsenyuk urged Parliament to immediately approve law on national police

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a call to urgently adopt at the next plenary week the law on national police. He said this on Wednesday, May 6, during his visit of the Academic Institute of public security police training, psychological service and the National Guard of Ukraine, which trains cadets of patrol service of the Interior Ministry.

At the meeting with the cadets the Head of Government noted that certain difficulties had occurred with the adoption of this law due to the fact that "everyone wants to pin a Ukrainian sheriff asterisk for the adoption of the law on the national police": "There are a few projects".

He emphasized the Ukrainian Government developed a draft law in cooperation with international experts, MPs. "It is ready. This is now my core request to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The law is ready, everyone of you can pin an order for you were engaged in writing this law. We need a law on the National police to be approved".

"This is a signpost. Without this law we are not capable to form a new quality national police," said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

The Prime Minister also noted the need to approve a new administrative law, "to simplify it and ensure the law could protect both a policeman and a citizen of the country."

"Now a key reform is that of the judicial system of the state. A new high quality European Ukrainian police. With young people who earn a decent wage - up to 10 thousand hryvnias, have relevant social benefits, possess knowledge and respect to the citizens and the state. And I am convinced that they will get mutual respect from society," emphasized Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
