The Government expects 12 to 15 million citizens will receive subsidies. The Cabinet of Ministers allocates around UA 8,000 of subsidies a year per family. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said in an interview with Ukrayina TV.

He reiterated that the average subsidy per family a month is UAH360, "We have doubled the sum."

The Government, according to Arseniy Yatseniuk, expects that 3 million household will receive subsidies, which is 12 to 15 million citizens, "This is UAH8,000 of subsidies per family a year."

The Government has foreseen UAH24.5 billion in the State budget until the end of the year to settle these payments.

The Prime Minister said that had talked to Social Policy Minister Pavlo Rozenko on the implementation of the simplified subsidy issue procedure and receiving of applications and declarations for subsidies by citizens. Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that the Minister had visited 13 villages Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia and Kyiv regions: "He talked to people in their houses, and that the people in those houses have already received appropriate declarations."

According to general statistics, 90% of households received the documents to obtain subsidies. Arseniy Yatseniuk said that the subsidies are to be assigned in May, adding that before the heating season declarations would be sent to citizens again.

Simplified subsidy issue procedure, he underlined, aims to "avoid contact between the service of social protection and a person, so people are not standing in queues": "First, we assign a subsidy, but only after the check of data validity in a declaration. If they are false, then we will ask a person why she told a lie. If they are reliable, a person will get the appropriate subsidy assignment for the calendar year."

According to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, subsidy assignment takes the following approach: those who have larger incomes pay more and those who have smaller incomes pay less.
