Arseniy Yatsenyuk instructed to ensure operation of hotlines to inform about housing subsidies in all regions
Each area must have
an operating hotline, "to enable each person residing either in Lviv,
Dnipropetrovsk or Kharkiv, to shed all possible light on how to fill an
application form, receive a subsidy and how much assistance people will get
from the Government as compensation for prices and tariffs for energy
resources", stressed Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk during a
teleconference dedicated to considering the issues of housing subsidies on
Friday, April 17.
He reminded that the Government
had introduced a simplified procedure of housing subsidies when a person is
sent an application and a Declaration for him to fill and send back by mail to
receive a subsidy.
The Prime Minister
informed that according to statistical data of the Government contact centre,
90% of the citizens had received applications and declarations for obtaining
subsidies.
Apart from that, the
PM accentuated the need to ensure functioning of hotlines to inform about
procedure of getting subsidies in each region.
During the meeting
Arseniy Yatsenyuk phoned the Government contact centre. A hotline operator
informed that to obtain subsidy no additional documents are required – just to
submit a form from the place of work containing one’s income. She explained
that filled application and declaration can be either mailed or submitted to a
Social Policy Department - as it is convenient for a peculiar citizen, adding
that the citizens will be informed about subsidies within ten days.
The Prime Minister
promised he would also check operation of hot lines in the regions.
He commissioned the
Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers to form a list of all regional
hotlines. Arseniy Yatsenyuk also appealed to the heads of regional
administrations to assume personal control over operation of hotlines.
A general
questionnaire on the procedure of granting subsidies has been sent to the
regions, he reminded.
Moreover, Arseniy
Yatsenyuk also drew attention to the failure to implement a Government’s
commission by the leadership of certain regional state administrations to
immediately send subsidy applications to Ukraine’s citizens as well as inform them about a mechanism for
obtaining it.
According to him, in
certain regions a press conference on these issues has been held by other officials
instead of RSA heads, namely in Volyn, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa regions and Kyiv.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed to the leadership of the aforesaid areas and Kyiv
authorities to organize a press conference.
The Prime Minister
appealed to RSA heads with a demand to significantly enhance the awareness of
citizens on getting housing subsidies, in particular through media.
At this, Arseniy Yatsenyuk
stressed also that RSA heads should engage in this work together with city
mayors and heads of rural councils: "Everyone should be engaged in the
process. I would like very much that heads of district state administrations in
synergy with regional heads communicated not only through the TV - but talked
directly to the people".
