Arseniy Yatsenyuk: We have deprived Ukrainian natural gas market of oligarchs and monopolies
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported a
Governmental bill on the natural gas market, which will deprive the oligarchs
or anyone else of the right to use public gas
distribution networks free of charge.
Before voting Prime Minister of Ukraine
Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed to the Parliament to approve a relevant law. He
reminded that almost all gas distribution network in the country are
state-owned, at this, several wealthy citizens use them for free.
"The Parliament has voted for one of the
basic laws in energy market of the country”, said Arseniy Yatsenyuk on the
results of approval of the Law by the Verkhovna Rada. “Ten years they could not
have voted, so today we have finally deprived Ukrainian natural gas market
of oligarchs and monopolies."
The law on the natural gas market provides for
the right to use public gas distribution networks solely on a paid basis.
"Now we again assume control over all gas
distribution networks in the state ownership that occurred to be in private
ownership, so the money wasn’t paid to the state", said Arseniy
Yatsenyuk.
