Arseniy Yatsenyuk: Gov't establish natural gas and fuel oil fund
The Government of
Ukraine has decided to
establish a reserve fund of
natural gas and/or fuel oil worth US$1
billion, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said at
a meeting of the Cabinet on
Saturday, February 14.
According to him, the reserve fund will
be established through the involvement of state
guaranteed loans.
"The winter
is coming to the end and we are, unlike the Russian Federation,
happy with this fact. And in
order to survive the next winter the
Government is already
thinking over ensuring energy
security," the Prime Minister emphasized.
"US$1 billion is
the amount that will be used to
purchase strategic reserve of natural gas and fuel
oil. We managed to overcome this winter, thus, we will
overcome the next one," Arseniy Yatsenyuk highlighted.
