OSCE Parliamentary Assembly consistently supports territorial integrity of Ukraine
On 6
February, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavko
Klimkin received President of the OSCE
Parliamentary Assembly Ilkka Kanerva,
who is on a working visit in Kyiv.
P.Klimkin
underlined the OSCE PA’s
and its President’s active position on supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and
territorial integrity. He emphasized that a peaceful resolution of the
situation in the Donbas region depends on the Russian side’s readiness to
implement commitments undertaken by it in Minsk. He also called on the OSCE PA to use tools and instruments available to it to
prompt the Russian authorities to respect the Helsinki Final Act principles and
relinquish its aggressive and predatory policy towards Ukraine, highlighting
the importance of implementing respective clauses of the OSCE
PA 2014 Baku Declaration.
From his
side I.Kanerva stressed the unwavering position of
the OSCE PA on the importance of reaching a
diplomatic solution of the current crisis around Ukraine and pointed out that
he would continue to exert every effort to contribute to facilitating a
respective peace process.
