Hennadii Zubko: The Recovery Plan for Ukraine through 2015-2017 might be of interest to those who intend to support Ukraine in its endeavours to introduce reforms

The Recovery Plan for Ukraine through 2015-2017, which is now being finalized by the Government, will contain strategic actions for Ukraine to be taken to put its economy on the way of sustainable development. Also, this plan will become the foundation to build discussions with those international partners who intend to support Ukraine in its endeavours to introduce reforms. Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadii Zubko informed today in Berlin, he attends to participate in the conference of the East and Central European Business Association (OMV). He suggested that the work on the plan might be completed by late February.

However, according to him, a number of international partners demonstrate vigorous activity to facilitate Ukraine in implementing important projects for our economy, in particular in the housing and utilities area, the Ministry of Regional Development is responsible for. Hennadii Zubko reminded cooperation of the Ukrainian Government with the German society for international cooperation (GIZ), which has a positive impact on modernization of housing and communal services of Ukraine, contributes to the solution of problems of energy efficiency and quality of services for the citizens. He accentuated on the projects Energy Efficiency in the Community and Energy Efficiency in Buildings. The first project, he explained, plays an important role in the ability of local government to perform the role of a driving force in the implementation of measures called to improve energy efficiency in Ukraine. The second is intended to develop and introduce energy-efficient and resource-efficient building concepts for new construction projects. The list of joint Ukrainian-German projects also includes "Municipal development and rehabilitation of the old city of Lviv" and others.

Hennadii Zubko expressed belief that such cooperation will be expanded, while its positive results will become the impetus to launch in Ukraine other projects in energy saving and energy efficiency field.

"These issues are of great significance to us, as on conditions of energy scarcity and high cost, we should offer Ukrainians fast, easy and available solutions how to reduce consumption of these resources. Here we should draw from the acquired experience of our partners from other countries, plus - understanding of how to apply it in our country and to find an opportunity to attract investments", said Hennadii Zubko.
