Arseniy Yatsenyuk commissions Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry to establish Commission on reforming coal sector. The PM is to meet with industry representatives

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has instructed the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn to immediately set up a conciliation commission on reforming the coal industry and social issues of the miners. The Head of Government informed at the Cabinet’s meeting on Wednesday, January 28.

The Prime Minister also said that today he would meet with representatives of the coal industry.

"I instruct the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry together with the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Finance, the National Commission for Energy Regulation, a state-owned enterprise Energorynok, a state-owned enterprise the Ukrainian Coal and trade unions and those MPs who are interested in this, to immediately establish a conciliation commission," he said.

According to the Head of Government, the Commission is set up to ensure everyone "to be aware what is a program of reforming the coal industry in Ukraine", "People must be sure that they will have a work tomorrow. And if one or another mine subjected to reforming - what kind of work the people having worked at the mine will receive, what financial compensation they’ll receive".

Arseniy Yatsenyuk commissioned in the framework of the activity of the conciliation commission to present a general reform plan for the coal industry, the one to be approved at a Government’s meeting.
