To encourage gas replacement in 2015 to be directed UAH 500 mln

The state budget for 2015 contains UAH 500 million to be directed to compensate for the difference in tariffs for the production of thermal energy for the population by generating plants (apart from heating plants, power plants and nuclear power plants) using other fossil fuels and energy kinds, in addition to natural gas.

It concerns providing by the government of compensation between the economically justified tariff for thermal energy production from all types of fuels and energy (except for natural gas) and the marginal tariff for production of thermal energy by the same heat-generating facilities to satisfy the needs of the population.

The described mechanism of stimulation of power objects to transfer to alternative fuels was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with its decree of July 9, 2014, No. 293 titled On encouraging the substitution of natural gas in the heat supply area.
