PM: National Guard servicemen to receive 50 mobile stations for heating and overnight stop by the end of 2014

On Wednesday, November 19, Ukraine’s Prime Ministerf Arseniy Yatsenyuk has become acquainted at the Interior Ministry with a new development of home producers for the National Guard of Ukraine - mobile stations for stay and heating in the field.

The mobile station checked by the PM is designed for the simultaneous placement of 18 servicemen. It is equipped with a ventilation system, autonomous heater and solid fuel stove. It provides the ability to connect household electric heaters.

It is designed for heating and placing troops in the winter period, especially during placement in isolation from the bases of permanent deployment, while on duty at checkpoints.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with the National Guard servicemen who had already experienced the mobile station. They appreciated the conditions in the shelter.

The Prime Minister has informed journalists that the process of modernization and acquisition of new technologies for the army is lasting.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk has reminded that the first draft of the mobile station was introduced in late September during his visit to the training centre of the National Guard in Novi Petrivtsi, "It was bulky, large and expensive."

"Within two months we have been considering draft decisions, how to provide overnight stop for Ukrainian soldiers in order to make it efficient, and inexpensive. This project, which has been approved by the Government, is three times cheaper and more mobile," he said.

The Prime Minister noted that such movable items are intended for the second line of defense, and can be used in emergencies, "To let servicemen or persons, who must be on the respective territories to help civilians and solve a particular emergency, have normal living conditions to spend the winter."

According to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, by the end of the year 50 mobile stations for accommodation and heating will be purchased.

He has noted that there is a separate project for the Ministry of Defence, because "shelters there need to be more protective."

The Prime Minister also said that the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine had already received 41 warm houses under international technical assistance from the United States: "The second set of these shelters are being unloaded in Illichivsk. And guys will be able to pass the winter in warm and normal conditions."
