Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with Mario Vargas Llosa

On Thursday, 13 November, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with a prominent cultural and public figure, writer, the 2010 Nobel prize laureate in literature Mario Vargas Llosa.

Mario Vargas Llosa stressed that the struggle of Ukrainians for their freedom, dignity and a European future had become inspiring to many people around the world. This example has brought to life a powerful surge of solidarity with Ukraine, and in this solidarity were joined the intellectuals of various political views - from left to right. According to the Nobel prize winner, Ukraine struggles for the entire free world, for the values shared by people of good will.

The Head of Government noted that Ukrainians demonstrated determination in the struggle for their independence and territorial integrity, despite the serious character of the threats, the state was posed to. In this fight Ukraine feels the world’s solidarity and support from its partners, Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.

The parties also discussed the role of public opinion and culture in countering aggression.

During the meeting between Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Mario Vargas Llosa there was also present the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain in Ukraine Gerardo Ángel Bugallo Ottone.
