PM requires to make an urgent decision on providing power plants with coal and prevent rolling blackouts
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has
asked the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine and
NERC to immediately decide
concerning the provision of power plants with coal and
to prevent rolling blackouts. The Prime Minister said this at a meeting
of the anti-crisis energy center on Friday, October
31.
He has stressed that for
several months he has been underlining the need
to make a decision on the provision of power plants
with coal, "because the power plants possess coal for 5-7 days":
"I require from the Energy and Coal
Industry Ministry and NERC
to make an urgent decision."
"I officially warn that
if you let rolling blackouts of the power
system happen, you’ll see the consequences. And
not just consequences, I’m going to ask
the Prosecutor General’s Office to bring to criminal
responsibility, "Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized.
