Agriculture Ministry deepens Ukrainian-German cooperation

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine with participation of heads of departments, Deputy Minister - Chief of Staff Oleksandr Sen met with Chairman of the Agribusiness Working Group of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations Mr. Dirk Stratmann and representatives of German companies doing business in Ukraine.

This meeting was a continuation of the constructive dialogue on the most urgent practical aspects of the Ukrainian-German cooperation.

Moreover, the sides have discussed the issues of cooperation in the production of milk and meat (beef exports from Ukraine to the EU and imports of live animals from Germany to Ukraine); reducing the bureaucratic burden on agricultural enterprises in Ukraine; the seed (the possibility of pilot projects along with the registration of varieties, reduction of import duties on rye); means of plant protection (an offer of cooperation in the fight against counterfeit); potential for cooperation in the field of agricultural engineering.

The meeting resulted in concrete agreements to extend practical cooperation in the issues on sectoral cooperation, which are of mutual interest.
