Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Mykolayiv visited an apartment complex in which victims of the explosion that occurred in May receive apartments

On Saturday, October 11, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk paid a working visit to Mykolayiv where he attended an apartment complex in which the victims of the explosion, that occurred in the residential building in 40, Lazurna street in May of this year, were receiving new apartments.

In a new building constructed for the citizens who had suffered from the blast there were purchased 80 apartments which are put in exploitation in turns.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk handed over the keys to the five new apartments.

Addressing the residents of the complex, he reminded that following the tragedy he attended Mykolayiv and commissioned to provide with new apartments all those who remained without home as a result of the explosion. The funds to purchase new accomodation was allocated by the Cabinet of Ministers.

The Head of the Government congratulated the Mykolayiv residents on today's positive event, "In our times everyone wants good news".

Meanwhile, he noted that now in Ukraine there are hundreds of thousands of internally displaced citizens, "without homes, without shelter, without money." In particular, in Mykolayiv there stay about six thousand citizens, including military from Crimea: "So we have to think about those who are suffering and need help".

Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed that the Government had allocated the first tranche for the purchase of apartments for the families of the Ukrainian soldiers who died worth UAH 141 million. He appealed to the Chairman of Mykolayiv regional state administration, "I ask as quickly as we have provided these 80 families with flats, to give these people the opportunity to get an apartment."

At the invitation of one of the new owners Arseniy Yatsenyuk visited a new apartment. The owner Lyudmila Vlasyuk in a conversation with the Head of Government expressed satisfaction with the new flat and informed the apartment is ready for living.

The PM told reporters that the price of a square meter in this complex is UAH 7 thousand, and added that this price was reduced as the developers first had demanded UAH 10 thousand per one square meter.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that there are "not just mere walls, but finished apartment where one comes, furnishes and lives."

"First, we provide families, and secondly, give work to the economy. People build, earn, have a job," said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

"It is important not just to believe, but also contribute much into this belief. We don’t give up but go ahead. Thank you in these turbulent times you believe, we shall win together," said Arseniy Yatsenyuk to Mykolayiv residents.
