Arseniy Yatsenyuk: Government has financed production of equipment for ATO, military officials must ensure delivery and use
The Ukrainian Government has allocated UAH 9.1
billion to provide anti-terrorist operations. This was announced by Prime
Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Friday, August 22, during a visit to
the factory of the company "Practice" that produces armored equipment for ATO.
On this
day the company handed over the armored vehicles and
other armored equipment to the units of the National Guard
and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who take part in anti-terrorist
operations.
The PM got acquainted with the samples of armored vehicles that the company manufactures for ATO. The Director of "Practice" company Oleh
Vysotsky breified about the
latest technological developments of the company.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk also talked with soldiers of
the National Guard who were present at the ceremony of handing over the armored KrAZ-based vehicles for the
divisions of the National Guard and the MIA. On August 26, these soldiers will depart
to ATO area.
The Prime Minister stressed that produced at
the plant vehicles save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.
According to him, a batch of armored vehicles will be sent to ATO area, some of them
were ordered by the National Guard and paid from the State budget, another part was paid by a MP of Ukraine.
He noted that the KrAZ trucks sent for the soldiers "are one hundred percent of Ukrainian production and one
hundred percent armored by the
Ukrainian company "Practice". According to him, such a vehicle is almost twofold cheaper than similar KRAZ, which was bought before in the United Arab Emirates: "We must pay UAH 3
million for an armored KrAZ from the
Emirates but UAH 1.8 million – for the Ukrainian truck".
Arseniy
Yatsenyuk emphasized that the Ukrainian Government has allocated UAH 9.1
billion to provide anti-terrorist operations: "By now more than 200 vehicles
have been delivered to the National Guard alone. 600 armored
vehicles have been ordered and will be delivered by the end of the year. For
the Armed Forces 11000 items of arms and equipment have been resurrected, helmets
and body armor purchased ".
"But
the main issue is the delivery of these helmets, body armor,
providing military personnel with the armor. There is
equipment, tanks, the money has been transferred. [Required – edit.] logistics and relevant military superior orders,"
stressed the Prime Minister.
"The orders have been signed, the money allocated,
the company is capable to produce minimum one armored
vehicle a week. We have provided funding, production and upgrading. Military officials
must ensure the delivery and use of equipment in ATO", - emphasized
Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
