Yurii Prodan met with U.S. delegation led by Deputy Assistant Secretary William Bryan

During the meeting the interlocutors discussed the issues of strengthening energy security and those connected with the upcoming heating season in Ukraine. The Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yurii Prodan briefed about a number of measures which were carried out aimed at strengthening the country's energy security and certain problematic aspects of the industry caused by damages to the infrastructure of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The attention was paid to the work of coal enterprises under the current conditions, a possibility to prolong negotiations in a trilateral format with the Russian Federation on natural gas deliveries to Ukraine.

In turn the American party emphasized their readiness to facilitate strengthening of energy security of Ukraine. The Deputy Secretary for Infrastructure Security and Energy Restoration William Bryan underlined the U.S. government intends to share the experience and methods of work in energy area under the crisis conditions. Moreover, the American officials promised to provide specialists to work in anti-crisis energy headquarters which operates under the chairmanship of the Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroysman.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation in the outlined directions and act to strengthen energy security of Ukraine.
