Japan stands ready to assist Ukraine
Rebuilding of Ukraine’s East,
completing of work on the Agreement on mutual investment protection,
enhancement of cooperation in energy and agriculture have become the central
topics of business consultations between Ukraine and Japan.
Ukraine deeply appreciates the support Japan renders to
our country, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Pavlo Sheremeta stressed.

“We are studying and trying
to introduce best world practices of economic growth. It is evident that now
among the best practices is singled out the Asian Miracle, the pioneer of
which is Japan. The experience of Japan in drawing investments, promoting export,
permanent improvement practice, innovations,
training necessary human resource to make a breakthrough which Japan did in a
postwar period and took a leading place among the
most developed world countries – this experience is of peculiar importance
for Ukraine,” Pavlo Sheremeta said. The Minister explained the incumbent
Government takes gradual steps directed to deregulation, lowering pressure of
controlling bodies, improvement of tax system – all the steps, according to
the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, are destined to ensure any
business’ “life and work to be simpler, more profitable and efficient in our
country”. Pavlo Sheremeta
emphasized a visit in such hard period of the powerful delegation from Japan
comprising of a number of top officials and around 20 chiefs of worldwide known
Japanese corporations appears a sign of the friendly support demonstrated by the
Government of Japan. “On behalf of the Government of Ukraine I
would like to express gratitude for the constant support of the Government of
Japan: the best friends are tested in hard times. And we consider it an honor to have such friend as Japan that expresses us
solidarity in difficult times. Your friendly, moral, financial and
intellectual support is highly evaluated by the Government of Ukraine and the
people of Ukraine,” Pavlo Sheremeta said. The parties agreed that among
the most urgent issues for Ukraine are energy security and agricultural
development. The Japanese party aired readiness to help Ukraine in
development of these sectors. “I wish the meeting could contribute into
strengthening of economic and business relations between our countries,” the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of
Japan Toshimitsu Motegi
stressed. “We suggest to finalize the negotiations on
preparation the Agreement on mutual investment protection and stir up the
process of its realization by the end of the year”. Toshimitsu Motegi
noted Japan is ready to help Ukraine and would like to study in details the
needs of our country. In the framework of Japanese-Ukrainian business
consultation there took place a meeting between the Minister of Economic Development
and Trade of Ukraine Pavlo Sheremeta and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of
Japan Toshimitsu Motegi. The
parties signed a Memorandum of cooperation in energy on the outcomes of the
consultations. |
