Official statement of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine
On August 1, representatives of the
Russian Federation have completely blocked the
entry of vehicles with Ukrainian food
products to the Crimea. The formal reason
for the delay was non-compliance with Russian health
standards.
The Russian side prevents imports of corn, corn
grits, soya, soya flour, sunflower seeds, canned food, dairy
products, soft
drinks into the territory of Crimea.
The traffic through the checkpoints "Stavky", "Kairka"
and "Chonhar" from Crimea has been completely blocked. From
the mainland there are huge
lines of hundreds of large trucks.
We believe that Russia is creating an
artificial shortage of food on the temporarily occupied
territory of Ukraine. Also such actions
are aimed at forced obtaining Russian customs permits for
Ukrainian carriers as a part
of measures in order to legitimize the
occupation authorities.
As a reminder, on 17 May
this year, Russia has already carried
out similar measures so as to
block the import of Ukrainian food products into
the Crimea. The then formal reason was
lack of Rosselkhoznadzor’s permissions.
