PM calls Rada's approval of all governmental initiatives a step to unite and save the country
“The support by the constitutional
majority of all governmental initiatives is a step to unite and save the country, a step, which inspires faith and confidence in each Ukrainian. The country is
moving forward. The country is struggling. The country will win,” said Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a press conference on
Thursday, July 31.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk has noted that "even the Parliament realized that the only correct option is the unity of the nation", "unless there is unity, there won’t be a nation."
The Prime
Minister outlined the main provisions of the adopted bills.
He said that the war in the east of Ukraine "had a terrible impact on economic indicators":"That the taxes stopped to be paid in the east because
there is fighting there, they fight against Ukraine. However, he said, the Government continues
financing social payments on the territories under control: "And every city, which is liberated by the Ukrainian military,
immediately receives a full package of social and financial aid."
Also,
despite the economic challenges, the Government has managed not to reduce payments of
pensions and
wages.
In
addition, according to
the PM, has been adopted a number of important decisions on financing "both the military
operation and renewal of the Ukrainian areas in the east, bombed by Russian terrorists ": “The total amount of funding provided
for the rebuilding of Donbas is UAH 2 billion, and
the financing of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the National Guard, every
Ukrainian who is now involved in the anti-terrorist operation and the fight for
Ukraine has been increased by UAH 9 billion”.
