V. Hroysman: On July 31 in Minsk Ukraine will demand immediate access for the international mission to the place of Boeing 777 crash

Today the international experts  haven’t had a chance again to get to the place of the Malaysia Airlines’ Boeing 777 crash in order to hold relevant investigation of the accident and search bodies that could allegedly have remained at the site. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, chief of the State Commission for investigation of the plane catastrophe Volodymyr Hroysman announced during a briefing in Kyiv.

“This morning the OSCE experts started travel along one of the routes in the rebel-controlled territory. Near Yasynuvata they were turned back and banned to move farther,” he explained. 

 Volodymyr Hroysman has stressed the President and the Government demand to provide immediate access for the expert to the territory where the catastrophe occurred.

 “The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko authorized our contact group to fly to Minsk tomorrow and hold consultations aiming to ensure our demands to provide the access for the international mission to the territory of plane crash to be fulfilled,” he said and assured the Ukrainian side was doing everything in power to meet the goal.

 The Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, Ambassador Ertugrul Apakan who was present at the briefing has emphasized the need to cease fire and organize safe corridors in the plane crash zone. “We are engaged into work with negotiators and hope we would reach the place of accident tomorrow,” he said.

 Volodymyr Hroysman reminded that Ukrainian side didn’t conduct warfare in the area of 20 kilometres around the place of the plane crash and had no intentions to restore control over the territory through military means.

“We wish to ensure that the OSCE exercise necessary control and to convince everyone the Ukrainian army hit no missiles at the place of accident, including the routes where the experts travel,” the Vice Premier assured.

 Moreover, Volodymyr Hroysman informed to monitor the situation it was suggested to use unmanned aerial systems capable to make technical research of the territory and prove there were no military actions conducted by Ukrainian militarymen in the 20 kilometre’s zone. Apart from that, the State Commission has adopted a decision to host the base for the international investigation expert group as close as possible to the territory the plane was hit. 

“We demand to provide immediate access for all the specialists tomorrow in order to hold investigations of the accident in this territory. The Ukrainian side does everything possible. We are ready to continue cooperation with other partners to settle this issue. It is a principal position of the President and will be brought to the logical conclusion,” Volodymyr Hroysman stressed.
