Ratification of Agreement on international police mission entering the Boeing 777 crash area may take place next week

“At the moment all 4 refrigerated carriages with corpses of «Malaysia Airlines» Boeing 777 innocently fallen passengers, which are in Kharkiv, have been unloaded. 189 out of 227 special-purpose containers with bodies have been sent to the Netherlands for identification. The rest will be sent in the morning of July 26”, stated Volodymyr Hroisman, the Vice Prime-Minister of Ukraine, Head of the State Commission for the Investigation of the circumstances of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 crash.

“Besides, we signed a memorandum between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Netherlands as well as between both National Investigations Bureaus. In compliance with the 1944 Convention we passed full investigation of this horrible act of terror to the Dutch side as the act of good will. Experts are working daily, but the most urgent issue as of today is entering the territory where the aircraft wreckage remains, in order to thoroughly examine it, as well as check whether there are corpses of deceased passengers left which after being identified are to be returned to their home country”, stated Volodymyr Hroisman.

At the same time, the issue of ratification of an Agreement on international police mission entering the area of the airplane crash, which would be able to support the experts’ activity on this territory, is important too.  “It is the very issue we are presently directing our efforts to”, emphasized Volodymyr Hroisman. 

“Preparation of a special document on our support of a police mission, connected with the crash site guarding for the sake of the experts’ access, is under way. I believe ratification of this Agreement may take place in the Parliament as early as the next week”, noted V. Hroisman.
