PM to announce most ambitious privatization in Ukraine
"We are
going to announce the most ambitious privatization for all 20 years.
State-owned companies, which are a subject of corruption rather than
development, should be privatized," stated Ukrainian PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk at the Third
All-Ukrainian Agricultural Forum on Thursday, July 10.
He has noted that
next week the Government of Ukraine will consider the bill on the list of
facilities that are not subject to privatization.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk called state-owned and holding companies
inefficient ones that are focused only on one thing - stealing money received
under the state guarantees": "I am ready to prove it by
figures," said the Prime Minister.
"For 20
years has been brought forth the whole mechanism for collecting and pumping
money - various permits and certificates," he added, recalling that 20
different kinds of permits have been already cancelled.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk has also stressed that there are still tax gaps
in Ukraine: "They have being hushed up for two months, but now have again
turned up. Laundering of VAT proceeds has been again begun.
The Prime
Minister informed that at a meeting of July 9 gave time the Head of the State
Fiscal Service up to 1 September: "There’ll be the devil to pay when there
are tax gaps. There’ll be no other option. Today, each hryvnia
is worth its weight in gold, and the fight against corruption in the system of
tax authorities should be not in words and in figures."
