At today's meeting, on 9 July, the Government has adopted a decree that abolishes a number of resolutions of previous governments concerning benefits for officials.

As said Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Ostap Semerak at a briefing following the meeting of the Government, the Cabinet of Ministers has cancelled privileges for former high-ranking officials and their families entitled to free medical and health-resort treatment.

"The benefits for accommodation facilities of the State Management of Affairs have also been cancelled", said the official.

The Minister has explained that the process of deprivation of privileges of officials is going gradually. "We’ll get absolutely everyone who is a parasite at the expense of the state. The citizens should not maintain former, current as well as future officials in luxury", emphasized Ostap Semerak.

By another decision, the Government has deprived of one-time and regular payments to former officials for the so-called hard work, continuous service, etc. "This means that, in fact, we have deprived a whole army of former bureaucrats of allowances increased their pensions. No such allowances shall be more," assured the Minister.

The Cabinet of Ministers has also appealed to the President of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a request to revoke privileges to all former heads of government, army generals, justice advisors and other officials whose provision is regulated by decrees of the President and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
