PM says restoration of Donetsk and Luhansk regions' infrastructure worth UAH 8.1 billion

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has appealed to residents of the cities liberated from terrorists by Ukrainian troops to return home and rebuild together with government Luhansk and Donetsk regions. The PM said this at a Government’s meeting on Wednesday, July 9.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk has emphasized that according to preliminary data of Ministries the total payout for the restoration of infrastructure in Donetsk and Luhansk regions as of today worth UAH 8.1 billion, "Let's think about where to take this money."

He has informed that the Government will appeal to donors with a view to getting help aimed at restoring infrastructure in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as to developing an ad hoc postrehabilitation program for Donbas region.

The Prime Minister also said despite the difficult military situation in the region, "State Savings Bank of Ukraine" has started to "bring in cash and pay pensions to people" – in total UAH 251 million. "We have launched this process," he added.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed to residents of areas liberated by Ukrainian troops: "Let’s together rebuild Ukraine and your home towns. Please, come back to your homes. The central government is taking all necessary measures, and doing all its best, despite the incredible difficulties in the country. "

"We are seeking resources so as to help Donbas. Please, come back to your homes, gather and let’s together rebuild Luhansk and Donetsk regions after terrorists ", said the Prime Minister.
