Arseniy Yatsenyuk commissions to protect national interests of Ukraine in Stockholm Court and get ready to emergency state in energy area
The Prime Minister of
Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has commissioned the Ministry of Energy and Coal
Industry of Ukraine, Justice Ministry of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
of Ukraine and Naftogaz Ukrainy
to take all measures to protect national interests in Stockholm Court. He said
at a session of the Government on Monday, June 16.
He stressed that in
the Arbitration Court of Stockholm Ukraine demands compensation from Russia
worth around USD 6 billion “and introducing exceptionally market and
non-discriminatory mechanisms”.
The Head of Government
instructed to send a Governmental delegation to Brussels and European Union’s
participating states in order to provide clear explanation of the position of
Ukraine.
“I consider our
prospects in court are very promising,” he noted.
Besides, Arseniy
Yatsenyuk commissioned the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine and
Justice Ministry to prepare a draft law on emergency state in energy sector:
“We must be prepared for the hardest times and we should be ready for that”.
