Olexandr Sych: Lack of appropriate informing could hamper yeliding desired results in healthcare reforms

“To ensure effective functioning of healthcare domain one of the goals of humanitarian policy in whole should become sensitizing the society to the values of health”. The Vice Prime Minister Olexandr Sych announced during a meeting of public expert council on health, which is comprised of leading experts of medicine, pharmacy, patient rights, scientists etc.

The top official opines upgrading the branch is crucial, with the view to the difficult social and economic conditions it should be thoroughly prepared accounting for all possible consequences and risks. “In the process of reforming of the healthcare system we should ensure full information support. Both the doctors and the public should be aware about each step made by the Health Ministry and other responsible agencies. Lack of such informing will hamper yielding the desired results,” Olexandr Sych added.

The participants of the meeting unanimously singled out several key problems of the branch, subject to joint work of the expert community and the authorities. “In cooperation with representatives of ministries and departments, scientists we shall elaborate recommendations in order to improve the legislation in health area, ensure implementing European norms in Ukrainian normative legal base, introduce independent control over medical services’ quality, algorithms of transition to the obligatory state medical insurance etc.,” the Vice Prime Minister summed up.
