PM calls on entire international community to unite against Russian aggression
"Today's Russian
statement is nothing else but a direct proof of the presence of Russian citizens
supporting terrorists on the territory of Ukraine", Ukrainian PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed at a
government meeting on Friday, April 25.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk paid tribute to the fact that the international
community had firmly condemned the Russian Federation for "exporting and
supporting terrorism in Ukraine."
The Russian
representative, as the Prime Minister recalled, stated that Russia "will
use the right to self-defense in the case of further violation of the rights of
Russian citizens on the territory of Ukraine": "By this, Russia has
recognized that terrorist organizations, unknown armed persons acting on the
territory of Ukraine are Russian citizens. It
is clear now that those citizens represent special services of the Russian Federation.
"
He noted that the
Ukrainian side holds daily meetings with representatives of the OSCE mission in Ukraine: "The mission has access to the
entire territory of Ukraine. And
we guarantee that any member of the OSCE mission will
be able to arrive at any point, where an anti-terrorist operation is being
conducted and personally ensure that there is only one purpose of the
anti-terrorist operation - preservation of a human life and the fight against
gangs who shoot people with guns".
“They have
already started hiding behind children from kindergartens. Does Russia support
these ones? Is this the face of Russian democracy?”, the
PM added.
He stressed that
Russia's support for "terrorists, gangsters who commit torture against
peaceful citizens, is an international crime":"Russia should be
responsible because this is a crime against humanity."
"Attempts of
the Russian military aggression on the territory of Ukraine will lead to a military
conflict in Europe. The
world has not forgotten the World War II, and Russia wants to start the Third
World War. The
leadership of Russian Federation is fully responsible for the aggression in
Ukraine, undermining international security and stability", emphasized the
PM.
"We call on
the entire international community to unite against Russian aggression. The
challenge facing Ukraine is a challenge that applies to the entire civilized
world. The
preservation of peace and stability in Europe directly depends on the
preservation of Ukrainian territorial integrity," he underlined.
According to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, if the U.S., EU member states, Ukraine and the entire international community "continue to keep the unity and work together and in concert in order to force Russia to comply with its international obligations, then we will keep the peace, stability and global security system that Russia wants to destroy."
